Keep it simple

Streamline your business with the KISS principle

I’ve been a big fan of the KISS principle for most of my career. The KISS principle (Keep It Simple Silly) is vital for small businesses. Small business owners already have too much to do. Adding unneeded complexity to your business, products, or services will reduce your ability to manage your company and make a profit.

Entrepreneurs are busy, creative people with a lot on their plate. Using the KISS principle can help you reduce clutter, clamour, and distractions while helping you focus on what you do best, create your business. By keeping things simple, you free up your time from non-productive activities. Focus your efforts on your business and not on things that don’t make a difference for your company.

Here are some ideas to help you keep it simple, remember, technology is your friend;

– use apps such as DropTask for organizing your projects and time

– depending on the size of your company, you can use a program such as QuickBooks to record your expenses and do your invoicing

– review the processes you use in your company, look for a way to improve what you are doing or look at outsourcing processes that aren’t the core of your business (i.e. bookkeeping, etc.)
